Expert Child Therapist in La Jolla
Meet Kaitlyn Torres
If you’ve been Googling “anxiety in kids” at midnight, you’re in the right place.
Kaitlyn Torres, LPCC is a licensed therapist and mom who is passionate about working with families. She specializes in high-functioning anxiety in kids and tweens, and in supporting the parents of children with ADHD. She works with kids who are quietly overwhelmed beneath the surface, and with families who are doing everything right but still feeling stuck.
As a mom herself, Kaitlyn understands what it actually feels like to want the best for your child, and the stress and overwhelm that come with being a parent. That understanding shapes everything about how she works with families.
You don’t have to keep figuring this out alone.

Training & Clinical Background
Kaitlyn believes the most meaningful therapy doesn't stay in the therapy room. It shows up in how a parent responds at bedtime, in how a kid handles a hard moment at recess, in the small shifts that quietly add up to a family that feels more connected.
Kaitlyn has co-facilitated parenting groups alongside Dr. Carrie, working directly with parents to build practical skills, find community with other families going through the same thing, and feel less alone in the hard moments.
Her approach is warm, practical, and parent-inclusive. She doesn't just work with kids in isolation, but works with the whole system around them, because that's where real, lasting change happens.
